BarkBound began with a puppy named Maya and a simple need: to keep her safe while living life outdoors. When we brought Maya home, we quickly realized that the traditional fence options just didn’t fit our on-the-go lifestyle. Our need became urgent when we learned Maya is visually impaired —her safety and freedom mattered more than ever.

We searched everywhere for a solution that was trustworthy, portable, and flexible enough to work in the various outdoor environments we love. GPS systems had poor accuracy and struggled under tree cover. Other solutions needed a power outlet, nothing felt reliable—or built for adventure.

So we built our own.
