BarkBound began with a puppy named Maya and a simple need: to keep her safe while living life outdoors. When we brought Maya home, we quickly realized that the traditional fence options just didn’t fit our on-the-go lifestyle. Our need became urgent when we learned Maya is visually impaired —her safety and freedom mattered more than ever.

We searched everywhere for a solution that was accurate, portable, and flexible enough to work in the various outdoor environments we love. GPS systems had poor accuracy and struggled under tree cover. Other containment systems needed a power outlet or could only create rigid, preset shapes. Nothing felt reliable—or built for adventure.

So we built our own.
